SD-WAN - Analytics
The Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Analytics platform provides graphical representations of the performance of your entire Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN overlay network over time and enables you to drill down to the characteristics of a single carrier, tunnel, or application at a particular time.
The main characteristics of SD-WAN Analytics are as follows:
- A cloud-based analytics engine
- Data anonymization
- Optional solution element
- Opt-in customer model
- Analyze fabric telemetry
- Capacity projections
- Service level agreement (SLA) violation trends
- Utilization anomaly detection
- Application quality of experience (QoE)
- Carrier grading
The SD-WAN Analytics dashboard serves as an interactive overview of your network and an entry point for more details. The dashboard displays information covering the most recent 24 hours. You have an option to drill down and choose various time periods for which to display data.
The SD-WAN Analytics platform displays application performance with the QoE value. This QoE ranges from 0 to 10, with 0 as the worst performance and 10 as the best. The SD-WAN Analytics platform calculates the QoE based on latency, loss, and jitter, customizing the calculation for each application.
Some of the SD-WAN Analytics features are as follows:
- It provides real-time information for failure correlation, cross-customer benchmarking, and application performance scores.
- It enables future planning based on intelligent data (application and bandwidth forecasting, branch expansion analysis, and policy changes).
- It provides a QoE score for applications that are running on your network to help identify how your application is performing based on recent changes made on your network.
The SD-WAN Analytics platform offers these advantages:
- Visibility:The SD-WAN Analytics platform provides visibility into application and network performance based on information collected from your overlay and correlated information from other networks, which provides insight into application performance and anomalous applications over a period.
- Forecasting: The SD-WAN Analytics platform can help you plan for sites that may need additional bandwidth in the next three to six months.
- What-If Scenarios: What-if scenarios help you identify opportunities for balancing cost, performance, and availability of networks and applications.
- Recommendations: The SD-WAN Analytics platform runs machine learning algorithms to identify opportunities to fine-tune the WAN. For example, the SD-WAN Analytics platform can recommend application-aware routing policies based on historical information from your environment. In addition, the SD-WAN Analytics platform can mine data across various network service providers and recommend network service providers for a specific location.
